Freeskiing World Tour
The FWT is one of the most recognized high mountain free skiing competitions in the world. It started in 1998. In 2009, MSI - the company that organizes the event- decided to include Las Leñas valley in their calendar as a destiny for South America, because of its amazing snow and terrain conditions. According to the IFSA judges (International Freesking Association), the legendary “canaleta de Eduardo” is the longest and most technical route in the circuit, with perfect variations and slopes where the competitors can show all of their talent, turning our valley into the perfect place for this kind of competition. The tour includes the best competitors in the category, including participants from more than 11 countries, such as Griffin Post, Julian López and Johnny Collinson, among others. As the main sponsors of the event, we have Las Leñas, Subaru, The North face, Powder Magazine, Gore-texy and MSI.

Mountain and ecology day
This day is a part of the environment care and awareness campaign implemented in Las Leñas. We have set a particular day to celebrate the mountain and take care of it. It takes place on August 20th, with a special program in the valley with the participation of all employees and visitors. The activities are differentiated by age, clean-up patrols are formed and the school instructors explain to students the different ways we can all take care of the mountain, and other ecological activities.

We believe that together we can stop the climate change.

Mountaineer day
It’s the biggest celebration on the mountain. It takes place every August 5th celebrating Nuestra Señora de la Nieve (Virgin Mary of the snow). All employees and visitors of the valley celebrate the winter season received and the mountain that gives us so much satisfaction. Celebrations are held each year at the base, with torch parade descents and ornamental jumps performed by our staff. Our sponsor brands join us with other special actions.

Season events
Throughout the season, there are other sports events and competitions for all ages. Polo and rugby are some of the other sports performed in the valley for the entertainment of our visitors. On the mountain, the competitions at the snowpark and ski and snowboard competitions are already part of the sports calendar of Las Leñas valley, where adults and children can enjoy the ideal terrain and snow for practicing freestyle or every type of skiing. Because of our amazing terrain, snow quality and facilities, every year we host the national teams of Switzerland, Italy, France and Austria- among others.

Las Leñas Fashion
It’s one of the most exclusive shows of the season, and combines the glamour of fashion with the beauty of the mountain. This traditional event attracts models, designers and famous people from all over the world. Models like Ingrid Grudke, Lara Bernasconi, Carolina Baldini, Agustina Attias, Natalia Botti, Paula Chavez and designers like Benito Fernandez, Maureen Dinar and Charles Calfún melt the snow at the Las Leñas and impress our visitors every year.
