Highlanders Day
Each august 5 Las Leñas celebrates. The day of the mountain village inhabitants is the most popular festivity in the mountain.
This year we celebrate the day with varied entertainment, demo of ski and snowboard at the base in charge of our school, live show with music in charge of Poncho, and the traditional torchlight parade with our snow groomers.
Additionally, our Gest Service popole distributed hot drinks and food for everyone to enjoy the whole day and stay warm. As there was a great closing party After Mountain type. |

EXTREME EXPEDITION VALLE HERMOSO
Using Pisten Bully 300 snowcats we provide accesses to some of the most incredible terrain and snow conditions on the planet. Guided by professional skiers and snowboarders and assisted by a ski patrol person, you will access terrain beyond the reaches of the chair lifts, enabling you to enjoy the descent and scenery rarely seen by others. Las Leñas has SKIDATA
Las Leñas invest for this 2010 season on new system to access to the mountain that is used in the main ski resorts around the world: SKIDATA. They where installed 22 gates in the valley.
SKIDATA is a free motion access system that uses rechargeable magnetic cards that the skier can reused in each of his trips to the valley. The system allows the skier to keep the lift ticket stored in the jacket or trousers without having to show it. They just need to pass close to the gate to access without any problems.
SKIDATA also works as a safety system that shows where every skiers is at all times, storing the information every time they access to the lift. In the event of a missing person, personal of Las Leñas have the information of where and when this person took their last lift, making the process to find it faster.
Skiers are enjoying the convenience of SKIDATA.

Ski School Activities
A typical week at the valley starts on Sunday early in the morning. Everyone checks on the weather, gets their gear on and head out to the slopes. The kids can take advantage of our Ski and Snowboard Programs, starting from 60 days to 17 years old. The adults have their options to, group, private lessons or top class. For the more adventurers you can hire a backcountry guide or jump on one of our extreme expeditions to check on the off piste.
On Thursday the Adults Group Lessons have their race divided by categories and with prices for the winners. At the end of the day there is a lights parade for the kids, where everyone on the Olimpos program is welcome to participate. After the sun is gone with lights on their helmets they can ski on Eros I coordinated by our Ski School and Guest Services Staff.
The week end’s full of activities, the kid’s ski and snowboard programs have their traditional race, where they can show their parents the skills earned during the week, where everyone gets a medal for their amazing effort, and have a pick nick as a farewell to the group.
For the little ones there is a short race and a snowmen competition at the base area, to end the week with torchlight parade performed by our ski and snowboard school.
For everyone who is not part of our Ski School Program, there is a schedule of activities coordinated by our Guest Service Team, you will find the activities for each day on your hotel counter and with post al over the base.

The reopening of the Hotel Acuario
To celebrate the reopening of the hotel, our most distinguish designers present there winter collections, Benito Fernandez, Las Oreiro, Breeder's and Laurencio Adot, perform Las Leñas Fashion Show.
In a unique setting in the heart of the Andes Dolores Barreiro, Ingrid Grudke, Débora Bello, Yessica Toscanini, Carolina Baldini, Jimena Buttilengo, Ines Pujol and Guadalupe Juarez, were some of the models, at the beginning of a season that promises to be incredible.

Standard Bank lifted the Cup Rugby X-treme Schick 2010 in Las Leñas
With the presence of Fabian Turnes, Serafin Dengra, Eliseo Branca and Joaquin Pichot was played the 6th season of the rugby world cup circuit only in the snow. The model Paulina Trotz was the godmother of the event.
The X-treme Rugby Schick Cup was played in Las Leñas was a total success. The presence of Fabian Turnes, Serafin Dengra, Eliseo Branca, Sebastian Mendez and Joaquin Trong Pichot, former players of Argentinas National Rugby Team: Los Pumas. Furthermore, the model Paulina Trotz, Schick Cup godmother took care of the game and after the final took photos with "Seraphic Dengra, voted the best player in the tournament.
The final was played at Standard Bank team, led by Fabian "Chino" Turner, and Smirnoff, led by Eliseo "Chapa" Branca and Joaquin Topo Pichot.

Acuario Hotel.
Las Leñas, ski resort located in the heart of the Andes, announced the reopening of the Acuario Hotel after several months of internal and external renovation. This hotel has the best location and is the first hotel in Las Leñas, it is an icon of the valley.
The reopening of the Hotel Acuario is one of the key developments which has prepared the Valle de Las Leñas for this new winter season 2010. The hotel was completely renovated and equipped with a modern style, with special emphasis on comfort and functionality of each room and expanded public areas. It will have all the necessary services of a mountain hotel and some extras such as relaxation space.
For the interior redesign they hired the architects and designers Gallardo, Schaer and Pellegrini. For the furnishings Méndez and Classic & Now focused on a contemporary and modern ambient.
Located at the base of Eros I, just a few meters from the ski lifts Eros I and II, the Acuario is an exclusive hotel with forty rooms fully renovated double, triple, duplex and apartments, a combined total capacity of 116 beds. In addition, all rooms have LCD TV and other amenities.
